There’s nothing we love more than meeting inspiring makers and exploring new wine regions — near and far. From each vineyard’s one-of-kind personality to the extraordinary growers and winemakers we’ve cultivated relationships with throughout the years — these ingredients and most importantly the relationships, all deliciously collide to color and enhance every distinct site.
With the 2020 vintage, we continue to embark on our journey of exploring new regions. With this season, we have broadened our reach to the beautiful Santa Barbara County area and are thrilled to introduce a small production wine from the Santa Rita Hills. Most people consider Pinot Noir to be the signature grape of the Santa Rita Hills. Inspired by our passion for intense and elegant Pinot Noir, this wine is crafted with grapes from the Spear vineyard, located on the Eastern side, which sits above a majestic hilltop at around 750ft. The vineyard enjoys the morning sun, and is characterized with rich, calcareous soils producing a wine that is refined, yet intense in structure. This wine is a pure expression of this distinguished region - a wonderful accompaniment to our wines from the Russian River Valley.
Due to the devastating fires, we did not produce a 2020 vintage of our Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. We look forward to releasing the 2021 vintage in the fall of 2023.
